Hon. Governor, Northern Province, GA Chandrasiri was the Chief Guest at the Local Government Week – 2010, conducted by Vali South Pradeshiya Sabha, Chunnakam, that commenced on 15 July 2010. 
For the first time in history, HE President Mahinda Rajapaksa addressed the Cabinet when they assembled at the Security Forces Headquarters in Kilinochchi on 14 July 2010. 
Hon. A.D. Susil Premajayantha MP, Minister of Petroleum Industries declared open the “CEYPETCO” Lanka Filling Station at Kilinochchi on 13 July 2010. The filling station was inaugurated under the “Vadakkin Vasantham” 
The Hon. Governor of Northern Province GA Chandrasiri conveyed his gratitude and thanks to his Peers, Staff of Central Government, Provincial Council, District Administration and Staff and also the Security Force for their cooperation and hard work rendered in his endeavours during the last one year of his office as Governor.
