Northern Province Hon. Governor G.A.Chandrasiri met the children, teachers and parents from Mullaitivu District on their return of 10 days all island educational tour on 28 August 2010 at the governor’s secretariat, Varothayanagar, Trincomalee.
Ministry of Education, Northern Province has arranged a meeting on Early Childhood Development in the Northern Province. Hon. Governor G.A. Chandrasiri chaired the meeting. Direction was given by the Hon. Governor to the officers who are involving in the early childhood development in the Province.
Northern Province Hon. Governor G.A. Chandrsari has handed over motorbike to Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu Districts fisheries cooperative societies on 28 August 2010 at Northern Province, Varothayaagar, Trincomalee to improve their livelihood activities in Resettlement areas.
On 23 August 2010 in order to expedite the process of rehabilitation in the Education sector, the Hon. Governor, Northern Province had a discussion with the senior officials of the Provincial Ministry and the Provincial Department Headquarters and Zonal level Heads of Departments at Front Line Headquarters, Vavuniya. 
Demonstration on "Sithiyama" GIS Mapping System was held on 27 August 2010 at 10.30 am at the Agriculture Building Complex, Varothayanagar, Trincomalee. Mr. Presanna Lenadora and Mr. Thaya Navaratna from EI Technologies (Pvt) Ltd presented “SITHIYAMA” GIS Software which is user friendly GIS application.
