Indian MPs visit transitional Centers in Vavuniya and visit to Jaffna District

At the invitation of H.E The President Mahinda Rajapaksa, the 10-member Tamil Nadu delegation visited the transitional centers in Vavuniya on 11th October 2009. The delegation visited the Chettikulam relief villages and was able to observe the activities of the Kadirgamar, Ananda Kumaraswami and  Arunachalam relief centers.


The delegations have visited to Jaffna district to meet the Jaffna people’s conditions. The meeting was held on 11th October 2009 at the Public Library, Jaffna. The Hon.Governor, Northern Province, Major General GA Chandrasiri and Hon.Minister - Social Services and Social Welfare Douglas Devananda were participated and discussed with the delegations.

The delegation headed by Union Minister T.R.Balu included five other MPs from Tamil Nadu's ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), with Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi's daughter M.K.Kanimozhi, his son K.S.Azhagiri, three MPs from the Congress Party and the leader of the Viduthalai Chruthaigal Katchy (VCK) Thol.Thirumavalavan
