A discussion on operation of schools in Vavuniya was held on 02nd February 2010 at ACLG office Vavuniya. The Hon. Governor, Northern Province, Major General GA Chandrasiri presided the discussion.
Secretary to the Governor ,Provincial Director of Education, Deputy Director of Education (Planning) Ministry of Education NP , Additional Provincial Director of Eduaction, Vavuniya and Zonal Directors of Kilinochchi, Mullaithivu, Vavuniya Districts were in the panel.
As the results of the discussion following decisions arrived.
- Teachers of the re-opened, re-opening schools must report for duty.
- Providing facilities to students in relief villages and in Vavuniya town
- Dual Session to be conducted at V/Gamini M.V for the displaced students who are not accommodated in Vavuniya schools.
- New School at V/Gamini M.V starting in 7 days.
- Temporary Learning sheds to be moved from from Relief villages to V/Gamini M.V.
- Arrangement made to provide Furnitures.
UNICEF agreed to provide a part of the furniture requirement.
